「amiabilty = "エイミアビリティ"？」 日記
前置きが長くなりそうなので結論を先に言うと、
「amiability」という英単語は 「アミアビリティ」ではなく「エイミアビリティ」と読むらしいです。 （意味は優しさ、温厚など） このサイトはブログが株式会社ティーカップ・コミュニケーション、 各コンテンツ有限会社侍ファクトリー、 掲示板がストロベリーセブン(個人運営)、 同盟名簿、超ローカル情報広場などがSEKKAKU NET の４社のレンタルサービスを借りて構成されてます。 簡単に言うと、アパートを４件借りてる感じ。 4部屋それぞれを管理しなければならなくてめんどくさいのです。 それを簡単にするために、マンションを1部屋買って (独自ドメイン(www.○○.comとか)を取得して)そこに 全部引越ししちゃいたいなとちょっと思いました。 で、早速、ドメインを取得するサイトで 「www.amiability.com」というURLを取得できるか調べてみました。 だめでした。 「www.amiability.jp」とか「www.amiability.net」なら 空いてるみたいでしたが、値段的にも「.com」がいいので いっそのことサイト名変えちゃおうかとすら思いました。 で、amiabilityというサイト名を考えたときと同様に、 電子辞書で「ami」と入力してみました。 ・amiability ・amiable ・amiableness ・amiably ・amicability ・amicable ・amicableness ・amicably ・amice ・amid などなど出てきます。 何気なくamiabilityの項目を見てみると amiability 【eimiabiliti】 [名] 優しさ,温和,温厚． ん！？ 発音・・・eimiabiliti !? (発音記号は変換できないんでこんな感じ) エイミアビリティ！！？？ アミアビリティと読むんだと思ってこの単語使ってたのに！？ 鈴木亜美さんのファンサイトで「amiable」というのがあって いざそのサイトを見てみると。 「サイト名は、"えいみあぶる"と読みますが、"あみあぶる"でも構いません。」 こちらの管理人さんはちゃんと知ってたようで・・・。 でもamiabilityは読み方もこれからも「アミアビリティ」とします！ 投稿者: A&M
